Boxplot

Box plots summarize the distribution of data using quartiles, median, and range. The box represents the interquartile range (middle 50% of values), the line inside the box indicates the median, the whiskers show the overall spread, and any points beyond the whiskers represent potential outliers. The intelligence sheet can calculate the inter-quartile ranges based on the input values provided.

Box plots are ideal for comparing the distribution of metrics such as revenue, sales, delivery times, or customer satisfaction scores across regions, products, or time periods.

Configure a boxplot

Follow the steps outlined to create a boxplot:

1. Select the Charts 100+ visual.

2. Chart type: Select Boxplot from the Statistical section.

3. Category: Assign dimensions such as Month to plot on the x-axis.

4. Boxplot: Add measures to analyze, such as revenue across regions or profit for a product range.
